In keeping up with the theme of building a whole new roster, the WVU basketball program announced the signing of another player on Friday morning.

Eduardo Andre,  a 6-foot-11, 250-pound center from London, England who played the last two seasons at Fresno State and his first two seasons at Nebraska, officially joins the Mountaineers only three days after committing. He will now play under head coach Darian DeVries and this staff as a fifth-year senior at WVU.

Andre provides WVU with some necessary size. Appeared in 49 games for Fresno State last season, Andre averaged 7.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game this past season. Andre also shot 60% from the field. Andre did not record any double doubles but did have six game of 10-plus points. Andre injured his knee in late January, missing the rest of the season.

Before Fresno State, Andre played at Nebraska during his first two seasons. Andre has one year of eligibility remaining.

Andre becomes the fifth transfer WVU has picked up this offseason, joining Tucker DeVries (G – Drake), Sencire Harris (G – Illinois), Amani Hansberry (F – Illinois) and Toby Okani (F – UIC).

West Virginia has lost Josiah Harris (F), Seth Wilson (G), Patrick Suemnick (F), Kerr Kriisa (G), Jeremiah Bembry (G), Kobe Johnson (G), Ali Ragab (C) and Noah Farrakhan (G) to the transfer portal so far.

The transfer portal entry window closes on Wednesday, May 1. Players just need to be entered by then and can extend their recruitment as long as they want to.
