Leicester City have finally managed to find a breakthrough in their negotiations with Inter for Stefano Sensi and a deal is now on the verge of completion.

The Foxes have had their sights set on the 28-year-old midfielder for weeks now and opened talks with the club a fortnight ago, trying to set up a low-cost deal due to financial limitations, something publicly admitted by coach Enzo Maresca when asked about the player.

Leicester agreed to pay Inter around €2m for Sensi over 10 days ago, following Cesare Casadei’s return to Chelsea, but talks continued to stall regarding the conditions and a deal seemed at risk of collapse at the final hurdle.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Leicester have now agreed to sign Sensi from Inter on a definitive transfer with a €2.5m bonus attached, linked to the club’s promotion to the Premier League. Talks are in the final stages now and the midfielder is expected to fly to England in the coming hours.

The 28-year-old has hardly featured for the Nerazzurri this term, seeing just 65 minutes of action across four games.
